Puns stands for the Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services. The PUNS is a database listing all persons who have applied for services through their local Pre Admission Screening Agency. All individuals with developmental disabilities who are seeking residential, day, employment or other type of services funded by the State of Illinois are now required to be on the PUNS database prior to service authorization.
On April 16, 2008, DD Director Lilia Teninty issued a memo outlining changes to the PUNS Service Requests and Authorization process. Click on the link below to view and download a copy.
