Mission: To
further the quality of services and supports for
individuals with developmental disabilities
and their families in Illinois.
The Advisory Council is
comprised of individuals with disabilities, families, education and
disability service providers, government officials and other persons
interested in the well-being and support of persons with
developmental disabilities. Statewide, there are geographical
networks with similar groups who appoint individuals to represent
them with the Illinois
Department of Human Services, Office of Developmental Disabilities. We
will assist DHS in its efforts to provide, in a timely manner, a
full array of quality, outcome-based, person and community centered
services and supports for individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families.
Most Network Advisory Councils
meet monthly.
Statewide, the group has been meeting on a quarterly basis. Review
and recommendations regarding the the policies, practices and
planning of the DHS Office of Developmental Disabilities take place.
Plans are made to direct the future course of state-funded services
and supports for people with developmental disabilities in
Illinois. This website is a project of the North/Northwest Suburban
Cook and Lake and McHenry Counties geographical network.
