Election Year 2012

To ensure that support for people with disabilities will continue, it is important for you to be in contact with your elected officials and those running for office.

In a representative democracy, your input is needed to inform them of the need to work together and create real change that will benefit people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Due to the legislative remap, there will be many contested races in Illinois at the federal and state level.

Write a letter to each of your candidates, telling of any personal/family and other important issues related to persons with disabilities.  Tell them to support needed disability funding.

Better yet, take the time to meet with any and all of your candidates to let them know in person.  Let them know that you intend to work with them in the future on important disability issues.
